I landed on Australia’s shores on the 11/12/11 and was determined to settle into Australian life and live here forever.

I found Canberra to be great. The people were friendly and I could see me staying there a while, but one thing was missing…the beach. It was the same distance to the nearest beach from Canberra to the coast as it was for me from my home to the seaside in the UK. Too far.

In Melbourne I lived 10 mins walk from a beach and an hour from the city. Perfect location, but the locals were not that friendly. After six months I didn’t have friends and I couldn’t wait to get out of there (plus it’s very cold in winter!).

I arrive in Perth nearly a year ago. I have made a couple of friends, had small parts in local shows, and sold my jewellery to a local shop. Things are going well.

I have plans to travel to the UK and the US in the next couple of years, but I do not have very itchy feet.

The thought of leaving here actually starts to make me sad. I rarely get that feeling.

I am doing my citerzenship test and interview on the 27th of September and the ceremony will not be long after that. I shall be a fully fledged Aussie!!

Do I want to stay in Perth forever, is Perth the one? Maybe in 10 years time or so, If I want to settle in one place, it could be.
